Preview Display

This page explains how to use the 3d preview control that appears on some of SoftMold's dialog windows. This control currently is being used on the Sprue Bushing and Locating Ring dialog windows. We intend to extend the use of this control to other SoftMold functions. This control allows you to rotate the component, zoom in and zoom out on the component and Pan across the screen.

Rotate:   Place your mouse cursor on the control and hold your Left button down. Moving your mouse with the left button down will cause the object to rotate.

Zoom:   Place your mouse cursor on the control and hold your Right button down along with the shift key. Moving the mouse to the center makes the object smaller. Moving the mouse from the center to the outside of the preview window makes the object larger.

Pan:   Place your mouse cursor on the control and hold your Left button down along with the shift key. Moving the mouse will drag the object around the preview window.

Setting Up the Control
SoftMold allows you to setup this control your way. You can set the background color you want along with the color of the model. You can also setup the default rendering mode the control uses. This can be ether wire frame rendering or solid rendering. Use SoftMold's Globe setting function to set setup this control. For additional information about SoftMold's Globe setting function.
See this link.

Wire Frame Rendering
At this time all wire frame rendering is black. If you have set the control to use a black background the wire frame rendering will not be visible. We suggest you use a light color for the background color. The default background color is white.
